Thai Pumpkin Pepper Seeds

Thai Pumpkin Pepper Seeds produce one of the cutest hot peppers you’ll ever grow. So named because of the pods’ appearance with its plump thick flesh with deep grooves similar to that of a pumpkin. But if you look closely they often look like a cross between a mini pumpkin and a tomato. And you can even use them as mini Jack-O lanterns for Halloween, only they are red in color.

Coming from one of the world’s hot pepper loving country, Thailand, these peppers are very easy to grow from seeds. Thai Pumpkin Pepper seeds grow into open habit shrubs. Meaning they have an upright growth habit but have fewer stems branching from the base producing an airier structure. And this makes them perfect for growing even on pots. The pepper pods itself grow to about 4cm in diameter. Although they are perhaps at the medium level when it comes to heat with only a SHU of 36,000, Thai Pumpkin Peppers are actually very versatile in the kitchen. They are often used for stuffed pepper dishes or usually for curries, with a hint of spiciness and sweetness.
